Walk Along for Lupus 2007

It is that time of year again!
My family, friends and I are walking in the annual Lupus Walk on Long Island, NY. This has been a family tradition that has meant allot to me through the years. The Lupus Alliance has helped me and my family throughout the years and this is our way of helping them continue their good work.

Especially after the difficult time I had this year with Lupus and our pregnancy, we got to see first hand what this disease can do. We have been blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby…but having a daughter and starting a family has made us even more dedicated to help those living with lupus live healthier, happier lives.
This is our 12th year walking! Last year my team raised a little over $10,000!!!
We try to beat the previous year every year. Our team has been walking for 12 years now. If you can join our team and walk with us that day- that is great. If you can donate or fundraise… even better! If you want to send a check instead of donating online- just reply to this email and I will give you the address.
Every donation counts!
On the link below, you can donate towards my goal or join my team to walk that day and fundraise.

Thank you for making this year our best year yet!
The walk is Sunday October 21st at Eisenhower Park at 9:00am.
What is Lupus?
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage and if not treated, can become life threatening. The immune system normally protects the body against viruses, bacteria and foreign substances. In lupus, the body loses the ability to tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells creating antibodies against “self”. There is no cure for lupus. Lupus affects adult women 10 times more frequently than men and is more prevalent than sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, yet it is the least known of all major illnesses.
Thank you for you support.
