Lupus Walk 2006
It is that time of year again!
My family, friends and I are walking in the annual Lupus Walk on Long
Island, NY. This has been a family tradition that has meant allot to me. Especially after the difficult time I had this winter with Lupus, we got to see first hand what this disease can do. I am thankful
that I am feeling better, but the incident made me even more dedicated to help those living with lupus live healthier, happier lives.
This is our 11th year walking! Last year my team raised a little over
$10,000!!!
We try to beat the previous year every year. Our Family has been walking for 11 years now. If you can join our team and walk with us that day- that is great. If you can donate or fundraise… even better! If you want to send a check instead of donating online- just reply to this email and I will give you the address.
Every donation counts.
On the link below, you can donate towards my goal or join my team to walk that day and fundraise.

Thank you for making this year our best year yet!
The walk is Sunday October 15th at Eisenhower Park at 9:30am.
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage and if not treated, can become life threatening. The immune system normally protects the body against viruses, bacteria and foreign substances. In lupus, the body loses the ability to tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells creating antibodies against “self”. There is no cure for lupus. Lupus affects adult women 10 times more frequently than men
and is more prevalent than sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, yet it is the least known of all major illnesses.
This is the only Lupus walk on Long Island that supports research as well as the families with lupus!!
Remember, your donations make it all possible. Thank you for your support!
