Food Review: Cedarlane Natural and Organic Foods

When I am tired and don’t feel well, I do not eat well. I live on cereal, granola bars and shakes. Although those are still better than eating nothing at all, I knew there had to be a better, healthier option that was also quick and easy. I decided to try some of the products from Cedarlane. I had heard good things about some of their wraps, but I wanted to see for myself.

These products are certified organic with no preservatives, added flavors or colors! If you are following the Dr. Sears Zone diet, Cedarlane makes entrees that follow those dietary restrictions as well. I have heard about the Zone diet for a few years now, and although I have never personally tried it, I have friends who have, with good results. Products like these, which are becoming more accessible, are making sticking to diets of any kind easier to do. Zone Science is a whole new way of thinking about food. It’s not about low-fat meals, fat-free carbohydrates, or high-protein regimens with prolonged hunger and deprivation. Moderation is the key. The Zone Diet is a moderate-carbohydrate, moderate-protein, moderate-fat lifestyle plan.
I tried the Cedarlane Big Box of Burritos, Wraps & Entrees To-Go (27 items)
– Cedarlane Burrito Grande with Salsa Roja (3 count)
– Cedarlane Three Layer Enchilada Pie (3 count)
– Cedarlane Green Chili & Monterey Jack Cheese Tamales (3 count)
– Cedarlane Eggplant Mediterranean (Moussaka) (3 count)
– Cedarlane Quesadillas with Pico de Gallo Salsa (3 count)
– Cedarlane Roasted Chile Relleno NEW! (3 count)
– Cedarlane Spinach & Feta Pie (Spanakopita) (3 count)
– Cedarlane Low Fat Beans, Rice & Cheese Style Burrito (2 count)
– Cedarlane “Veggie” Ham & Cheese Veggie Wraps (2 count)
– Cedarlane Low Fat Couscous & Vegetable Veggie Wraps (2 count)
This was perfect for me and the butyoudontlooksick.com staff to try a few items for lunch. I was happy with the overall flavor of most of the items. I am not a spicy food person, and even with the dishes being mostly Mexican or
Mediterranean, I found that they were flavorful without being too strong.
All items have easy microwave instructions, but I would recommend using a toaster oven or conventional oven if you have the time or energy. When microwaving (as is common with most frozen foods) the items came out soggy
and sometimes even the middles were a tad bit cold. When in the toaster oven, the burritos and wraps came out warm, with a crispy shell that made the whole thing taste better.

All the items were tasty, but the Cedarlane Three Layer Enchilada Pie was my favorite. It was cheesy and delicious and very filling. My only con for this item is that the serving size says two, but I can’t really imagine anyone just
eating half – not only because it would be a pain to store and keep half, but also because it was so good!
I just finished eating the Burrito Grande with verde sauce for an early dinner. It was just me tonight and I didn’t want to cook a whole meal, so I was happy to find that the burrito was stuffed with rice and veggies and cheesy. Nothing was sparse. I was very happy with the taste and textures and I was surprised that something so flavorful could come out of my freezer. I am eager to try more of their products!
Cedarlane has been in business for over 25 years! If you are unsure which products to try, check out their sampler packs to discover a few new things and find your new favorite. These items are available at many health food
