Easy Recipe: Dill Pasta Recipe
Fresh dill is better than dried for this recipe. So I don’t waste fresh herbs, when I get them home from the store I wash them and, while the plants are still wet, I stick them in a freezer bag & pop them in the freezer. I take it out and cut it as needed. If you have lots of spoons you can chop the herbs up and put them in an ice cube tray with some water & stick it in the freezer. Then later on if you are making soup, for example, you can just take out a fresh herb ice cube and throw it in the pot.
6 ingredient recipe:
Some type of tubular pasta – penne, elbows, etc.
Shredded Parmesan cheese
Fresh dill
Crumbled bacon
Frozen peas
Olive oil
I use the pre-cooked real bacon crumbles that come in a bag (Costco) or a jar, and shredded Parmesan that comes in a plastic tub.
Cook the pasta until al dente and drain. Don’t rinse. Coat with a little olive oil. Add the peas, bacon and dill and cheese.
I don’t measure when I cook, so how much you use of the bacon, peas, cheese and dill is up to you. This is good warm or cold and it will freeze OK. My sister gave me this recipe.
