Product Review: You’ve Got Mail….”Angels for Hope”
When I receive a package in the mail, I am immediately cheered up. I love getting mail, whether it is a package, an envelope or even junk mail. I think in this technological age, as far as we have come with email and
computers, we have lost something special about actually getting “real” mail.
There is something wonderful about having a tangible reminder that someone cared enough about you, to stop what they were doing and think of you.
I heard about Kelly Smith’s organization called Angels for Hope, and I was blown away. Since December she has taken orders for angels from over 8,000 people around the globe. She has over 15 volunteers crocheting. These angels for hope are available free of charge to those who are severely injured and/or chronically ill, as well as their caregivers, or just someone that you feel needs hope – as a tangible reminder that they are not alone, that others care, and that they are in thoughts and prayers. It is very simple, you fill out a form with the address and name of the person you want to send it to. You can even send an angel anonymously.
They have now branched out to smiley faces for children and butterflies. (I especially liked the butterflies for Lupus patients) The angel, smiley face, or butterfly all come with a special verse and a note to the receiver. When I
received my butterfly in the mail it made my day! It was so nice to get this beautiful butterfly. All I could think about was that someone spent their free time volunteering to make these just to cheer up people who need
it. It made me feel as though the world was a little better than I thought it was before. I keep the butterfly on my desk and it always makes me smile. Angels for Hope accepts monetary donations, as well as donations of yarn and other crafting and shipping materials. If you get a chance, please send a butterfly or angel to someone you know who needs it or donate to this worthy
cause.
