Product Review: Fibro-Pedic Memory Foam Mattress

They say you spend 1/3 of your life sleeping. If that is true, that’s alot of time that should be comfortable!

I would like to think that I am the kind of person who takes an active role in my health. I read articles, exercise, take my medicine, etc. I want to do everything possible to be the healthiest I can. One of the easiest ways I have found to positively effect your health, is to look at your sleep habits.
I never really bothered to look at the mattress I slept on until recently. I started reading about all the types of mattresses and the benefits from using each one. I was surprised when I found a mattress
specifically designed with a Fibromyalgia patient in mind. This mattress was created by a chiropractor whose wife was suffering with Fibromyalgia. I knew I had to try this. What did I have to lose?
The customer service representative asked me a few questions to help find the right mattress for me. Once the mattress was selected, it arrived fairly quickly. I opened up the package and started using the mattress instead of my regular old mattress that very weekend. Although it is obviously a different mattress (foam vs. springs) I initially found no difference in how I felt. I am sure I was looking for the immediate “miracle cure” and that
didn’t happen.
After a few days, and now weeks, I can honestly say I do see a big difference in how I sleep. I am not tossing and turning throughout the night and I am not waking up as sore and achy. Now that I am accustomed to the bed, I see subtle differences every day in how I feel. I soundly sleep through the whole night without waking up numerous times to re-position my body.
Looking back, my old mattress was way too soft. I think I was going with the theory that I should “cushion” my achy joints. Now with the Fibro-Pedic I have learned- I need to support them. This mattress took the pressure off my tender points that are so common to Fibromyalgia sufferers. This mattress has the unique balance of being comfortable and soft to sleep on, but firm enough to cradle and support your body. The hypo-allergenic Memory foam mattress never gets uncomfortably hot from your body heat.
I think using this mattress has created a completely different routine for me, with restful restorative sleep. I would highly recommend anyone to take a good look at their current mattress and ask yourself if it is working for or against you on your quest for better health.

I purchased the FibroPedic mattress several months ago. My husband and I had been sleeping on a waterbed. I noticed an immediate difference in comfort. Of course, anything without air bubbles is a plus! The longer I’ve had it the better it’s gotten. As much as I hate to sleep my life away (I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia), I actually enjoy climbing into my bed now. It’s not a cure all. When my hips are especially achy it is still painful to lie on my side, though not as bad as the waterbed. I never sleep all the way through the night without waking up, but I am able to get back to sleep faster. I totally recommend this mattress!!! My husband, who is healthy :0), loves it too. Such a relief as I’ve been trying to get him to get rid of the waterbed and get a “grown-up” bed for years!

The foam toppers lose their “cushion” within a few months. I bought a foam mattress with a 10 year warranty, guaranteed not to lose it’s cushion. It was expensive (we purchased the king size), but I swear it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. It’s been about 9 months, and I still LOVE my bed. I bought it at Value City furniture, and the brand is American Signature.

I bought a foam mattress topper in March, saw a difference right away. But for the last 6 weeks, haven’t felt like I did in the beginning…tossing and turning during the night. Still it’s better than the spring mattress by itself. Maybe we can save for this type of mattress…thanks for the review.

I also have Fibromyalgia and even though I did not buy the bed you are speaking of. I did buy a sleep number bed about 4 years ago, that is the one where you sleep on air, and it made all the difference in the world in how I felt in the morning.
Anyone with this conditions needs to check into what type bed they are sleeping on… I does make a difference
