On the Brink of Bliss and Insanity by Lisa Cerasoli
If you think your life is bad, this book ought to distract you from your own troubles!
Annie has the perfect boyfriend. He’s handsome, he’s a good lover, he has his own routines and she has hers, so what’s wrong with this picture? He’s emotionally detached from the world.
She finds sex with him titillating, but she begins to fear that they are doing sex more with hate as a motivator than love.
She decides she should break up with him and move on. But his mother drops dead (literally) and “it’s not a good time.”
While she’s waiting for a good time to leave, she loses her job, has her 28th birthday, and learns several things about herself – some of which she would probably rather not know.
Just about everyone in this story is dysfunctional. Several in more ways than one.
Annie’s cousin, Flo, is a lesbian. Her married friends are doing adventures in sexual activities in an attempt to get pregnant. And that’s more normal part of her life.
Then her boyfriend’s younger brother shows up. He and Annie find they have a lot in common in personalities, and they begin to get interested in each other.
MP screws around on her, but when she sleeps with his little brother, Billy, it’s too much for him to handle.
You’ll have to keep reading it just to see how all this mess gets resolved, or if it does.
I had a guess about how Annie would end up, but Flo surprised me…
