I am grateful that my son, very pregnant daughter-in-law and 15 month old grandson are safe and sound. Their house and all of their possessions were lost to hurricane Sandy but they are ok. I am also grateful to the friends, neighbors and complete strangers who have been so generous in trying to get this family back on their feet. Thank you God for all I have and for all of my many health problems staying relatively quiet during this time of unbelievable stress. God Bless you fellow spoonies. Thank you Christine for giving us a website where we know we’ll be understood. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • I am grateful for having family members who do their best to help ease the burden of jra.

I am also thankful that the internet gives us the freedom to communicate with other people going through similar struggles with auto immune diseases! Good to know I’m not alone 🙂

I am grateful for a diagnosis after all these years (I’m so not crazy!).
I’m grateful to finally have doctors that aren’t afraid to say, “Just one more test!”
I’m grateful for my husband, who never stops believing in me and a family that supports me through every step of everyday.
I’m thankful for my Cane Corso puppy and my rescue kitties for knowing when to put a smile on my face and when to cuddle an aching mommy.
I’m thankful to have a meaningful and flexible job that allows me the freedom to deal with my pain.
But most of all, I’m thankful everyday for the strength of hope that allows me to think that tomorrow will be a better day.

I am thankful that I was able to eat on Thanksgiving 🙂 and for my wonderful gastroenterologist working on his days off, so that I could get my first dose of Humira today.

I too am so very thankful today and everyday for my daughters and a wonderful man I share my life with who is helpful even when he’s worked a 10 hour day and thoughtful and understanding about this horrible illness that most times.wracks my body with such pain. I couldn’t be more blessed

I’m so thankful that I have bonded with my friend who also is living with be diagnosed with an illness (she has POT syndrome and most likely MS while I have lupus) at such a young age. At 21 we have realized how much you need to live life to its fullest because it can change so quickly.

I am grateful for the strength to make our Thanksgiving dinner. For being able to enclose our wrap-around porch so the dogs have a safe dry place this winter, for love of my husband and dad, and that soon and very soon, I believe that a better world is coming without pain and suffering.

  • Today and every day…
I am thankful for my awesome family and an incredible husband. *(while they may not always get it, they are supportive)
I am thankful for the love of my incredible support group and my sisters in suffering.
I am so grateful for my incredible dogs, my fur babies who bring me joy and inspiration every day.
And I am grateful that I have a job that is the joy, passion and soul in my life.
I am blessed, even if I am a beautiful crazy disaster, I am a blessed disaster!

  • “Happy Thanksgiving” to everyone, especially my “spoonie” friends. We all have so much to be grateful for. Everyone enjoy your day with your family and friends, plus plentiful “spoons” to go around for all. 🙂

I am thankful for my daughters and their families. For my husband who is hanging right in there with me. For my church family who keeps me afloat with their prayers.
For my doctors, who are so kind to me.
There are many wealthy people, who are not as “well off” as I am, because they lack all these things and money cant buy them.
Life is good and every day is THANKSGIVING, because I am loved.

To all my “lupie” friends in the states – Happy Thanksgiving. I don’t have lupus – and for that I am eternally grateful – but because of a friend with lupus I have met a most amazing, resilient and wonderful community of the most caring and beautiful people.

Christine, thank you for your “spoons” – it has made helping others and explaining lupus so much easier.

One day I hope we give thanks to the scientists who discover the cure for lupus!

  • Glenda

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American fellow spoonies. May your day be pain free and your hearts filled with love.

  • I’m grateful for my wife. She has stood by me through thick and thin. She is AWESOME.

I am grateful that I am as mobile as I am. I am grateful that my friends and family understand my condition. I am grateful to all the wonderful medical professionals who care about me. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
