“But you don’t look sick “is a wonderful site
For thousands of people who are having to fight
A chronic illness for the rest of their life
It’s a place where you’ll find lots of help and advice
From friendly people- they’re really so nice
They try very hard to add spice to your life.
When we get told that we have a chronic disease
We need somebody special who knows how we feel
We’ve had a shock to the system – It doesn’t seem real
We put on a brave face, for family and friends
Hiding our feelings- then we try to pretend
That we’re doing alright – that we’re on the mend
But inside, we know we are lying, but we need the support
Of other sufferers, with whom we can build a rapport
And we don’t need to walk out of our own door
We find solace in knowing -that we’re not alone
We all need a place we can have a good moan
A rant or a giggle, or you just want to chat, then
“But You Don’t Look Sick “ Is the site where it’s at.
