Healthy Eating Food Review: Yummy Food from Barbara’s Bakery

I always knew about Barbara’s Puffins cereal, and now since I am spending the month eating healthier, I thought it was time for me to try some of the other products made by Barbara’s Bakery. In the month of May, as I tried to eat better, I learned an important lesson, and that is, I eat what I keep in the house. If I keep junk food in the house, I will snack on it. Even with the best of intentions, if it is there, eventually it will get eaten. Once I started stocking my pantry with better choices, I started eating better. Of course it always helps when the snacks and foods taste good, as well.

Barbara’s Bakery makes cereal, snack bars, cookies and crackers. All of these items are good to keep around the house when you are looking to snack on something healthier than the typical chips or candy. All of Barbara’s
Bakery products are made without preservatives, artificial ingredients, hydrogenated oils or refined white sugar. Whether trying to eat healthier for yourself, or if you are a parent looking to stock better snack items for your kids, this is a good choice.
Starting your day off with a healthy breakfast is an essential way to make a big difference in your eating habits and help you feel better. I loved the shredded oats cereal with milk for breakfast, and my husband grabbed some to snack on alone, in his car ride to work. Both ways are yummy and filling. Barbara’s Bakery makes many flavors of cereal, but I liked the Cinnamon Crunch Shredded Oats the best because it could easily stand alone as a snack as well.
The Barbara’s Organic Crunchy Organic Granola Bars are wheat free and serve up almost half the recommended daily servings of whole grains. There are four flavors and these reminded me of the competitors brand- “Nature Valley” granola bars. This was a good thing, as these were healthier and I did not feel like I was making a big change, in what I was used to.
Barbara’s Fruit & Yogurt Bars come in 4 flavors; apple, cherry, blueberry and strawberry. My daughter really loved these for breakfast. They are soft with a perfect blend of sweet and cereal. I leave these in my tote bag for play dates, going to the park or road trips. They are portable and tasty for me and my whole family.

Many times I find that I only like one or two products from a healthy food line, but this time I was so pleasantly surprised that every product I tried from Barbara’s Bakery was delicious. I would recommend looking for this brand in your local grocery store, or checking them out online at barbarasbakery.com
