Poem: I don’t look sick

A Poem submitted by one of our readers.

(Note: I have rheumatoid arthritis and a bad spinal injury, I’m 29 and have lived in constant pain since I was 23)
I don’t look sick
this is true
I look the same
as all of you
the pain I have
you’ll never see
held all back
but never free
torment and chaos
worn down inside
but never in public
have I even once cried
I’ll fight through it all
though you’ll never know why
You’ll see me as normal
and never once cry.

Nicely done. I’m 18, been in constant pain since I was 7, so I feel you here. Thanks for sharing.

yeah, i know what you’re going through man, nearly 17 i’ve been in pain most of my teenage life.
its so easy to hate them, to feel so alone, but these things, these burdens only happen to those who are strong enough to carry them.
Stay strong, think better and brighter.
    Love and Peace.
