Touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound, they can all work for the road to recovery. Many times the patient won’t spend money on themselves for some of these seemingly “unnecessary” gifts. Many times when medical bills are high, finances get tight. These gifts will treat the patient to feeling good. I have listed 10 of my new favorites below.

1. Gifts from thehappycompany.com will certainly be a hit with anyone who receives it. Perfect for men, women, teens and elderly I think the gift of feeling good, is a gift that anyone will love. Massage is a form of touch that so many find therapeutic. Most of this company’s items are very affordable at under $30. These gifts would make great get well gifts for anyone, but also perfect stocking stuffers for the upcoming holidays. The “body trip” looks kind of odd at first, like a small rack made out of wire. You use the wand to go lightly over the body and it gives a wonderful sensation, half like tickling and half a light massage. The “happy massager” is another traditional favorite. You probably have seen many “knock offs” of this type of hand held small massager, but this company was the first. 2. Gifts from Om Aroma (www.omaroma.com) Om Aroma & Co. is a luxury organic spa and skincare line. These gifts are so indulgent that some of the ingredients are Caviar, Truffles and Champagne. Whoever you give these to is sure to feel special from the moment she sees your gift. The packaging is elegant and clean looking. Everything smells amazing. I felt so fancy using these products that they immediately put me in a better mood. These products are used in many fine spas around the country. As usual, my favorite thing is to support companies that “give back”. A portion of proceeds of Om Aroma products benefits the Self Esteem is Beautiful fund and the Dollars & Scents program.
3. Gifts from Essential Stuff (www.essential-stuff.com) I love the travel sizes of some of their best products. Even their candles come in a tiny tin called a “1 night can”. How cute! The smaller sizes and fun packaging would be perfect for the younger patient like a new mom, or teen. It also gives you the opportunity to try all the funky and unique scent combinations they have, like Vanilla Grapefruit and Fig n flower. They have candles, bath gel, lotion, and scrubs.
4. Dionis makes so many wonderful bath and spa products. I am a big fan of sugar scrubs for exfoliating dry skin and feeling clean and smooth. I like taking this extra step in my bath rituals to take some time for myself to feel good. 5. Good Thymes Bath and Body is a small mother-daughter business located on their family’s Minnesota farm. Everything is homemade using the highest quality ingredients. To keep everything fresh, they make their products in small batches and deliver quickly. They carry a wonderful array of products including soaps, lotions, foot soaks and milk baths. One of my favorites was the vanilla mint natural lip balm. I liked that I understood and could read everything in the ingredients list. I knew what I was putting on my body was natural and that made me feel good. I think any of their products would make a great gift. 6. As a self proclaimed “candle junkie”, I thought I knew every candle company that existed. I was pleasantly surprised to find the company GoldCanyon.com. I loved the gift sets because they not only include wonderful aromatherapy candles, but are wrapped in a beautiful cloth keepsake box with fuchsia ribbon. No need to wrap this gift! I found all of Gold Canyon quality gifts surprisingly affordable. The “Sparks of Inspiration” gift set is my personal favorite. It includes a full size candle in Citrus Cream scent, votives in fruit fusion, greenhouse medley, and tranquil mist. 7. The “Reflect and Escape collection” from Chesapeake Bay Candle will be available nationwide at Target stores this October. They are all very affordable gifts that look gorgeous in the home and smell amazing. Not only are the actual diffusers and candles pretty, but the boxes they come in look very nice too. With fragrances like Bamboo Jasmine, Amber Vanilla, and Tamarind & Spice, these scents will take you away to exotic places and help you dream of being somewhere fantastic. The scents are meant to take you on a sensory journey from Cuba to Indonesia or France, Spain, Morocco and Madagascar. If you can’t take your friend or family member away, then take the vacation to them!

9. BathSplendor.com has this amazing Lavender Headache Sinus Pillow. I seriously use this every night. I like the weight of it against my eyes better than a light eye mask. It is weighted with smooth, cool, resinous flax seed to bring relief to an aching head or restore calm. It seems to help my headaches and I think the minute I smell the lavender aroma, my body knows it is time for bed. (I guess I am like “Pavlov’s dog, but hey it works!) The silk casing and ribbon accent is so pretty, you won’t mind having it sit on your night stand waiting for you. This item might be slightly pricey for $24, but is a sleep indulgence I would highly recommend.
10. My hands are always cold and dry. I was so happy to find this product from 5thavenuebathco.com which helped heal my dry hands that I thought no one else could.
