The Best Pen I Have Ever Used!

Yes I said it! The BIC brand XXL pen is the best pen I have ever used! I always like to share good things I find with you and this is certainly one of them!

Having Lupus and carpel tunnel causes me great pain when I write, but as you know… I am a writer. You might think that I type since you are reading this typewritten, but every idea starts with pen and paper. Every meeting I go to I take a crazy amount of notes in case I forget anything. I write in my calendar because I am a mom. So Yes,.. I write a lot and I can say for certain That this pen was easy to hold because it is larger then any pen I have ever seen. Because the barrel of the pen is larger, it is easier to grip than any run of the mill little pen. It also features a foam grip that just makes everything even nicer. Whenever I have used this pen, my colleagues have commented on how great it was and then went and got some for themselves.

Best Pen Ever.

If you want one, I found them on Amazon.com cheaper then my local store- and it is a 2 pack!

Take vitamin b6 for carpal tunnel!!! It eases the pain so much. 200 mg once a day!

And I thought I was the only “fat pen” lover. All my sales reps would pick up fat pens from different drug reps and bring them back to the office for me. My current favorite is from my American Family Insurance office. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any brand markings. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I really do appreciate all the suggestions.

I am also a writer, write at least the first two or three drafts longhand, faithfully keep a Franklin Covey day planner, and write a lot by hand in general. My favorite pens are Uniball 207 Micro. I have been diagnosed with bilateral tendonitis, trigger fingers, osteoarthritis, and borderline carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, hands, forearms, thumbs, and all fingers. I have tried every pen on the market, and for me, these are the best I’ve found yet. Although they are not “fat,” they are comfortable to my hands. They can be found in bold, medium, or micro point sizes at Walmart, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples or Walgreens. They are easy to find and a godsend to my hands.

Check into Livescribe smart pen. They are a little expensive at first, but it was well worth it. I take it to the Doc’s office and just leave it on so I have a normal comversation with out having to take notes. I use it when I have to call a company so that I remember what was said. I made my own calender with my own shorthand, so I know that the capital M means that medical symptoms showed up so bad I couldn’t write that day (and it remains private). It is also rather large, so it eases writers pain.

  • Another great fat pen for hand ease is an old fashioned fountain pen. More modern designs get slimmed down to look more like ballpoints and so on – but the old style fat barrel cigar shaped fountain pens are classy and feel great in my hand. I like to get the piston fill converters for them so that I’m not relying on cartridges, just filling ink from a bottle.

The line is different, but that’s a matter of personal choice. I sometimes sketch with fountain pens too.

I’ve found fountain pens work very well too – no need to press down to write (like with any other pen), and tons of different sized grips/weights available. (also: ink color options!) Drop me a line if you want some brand suggestions.
