March 1 – Today is Lupus Foundation of America’s 2011 Advocacy Day

Today is Lupus Foundation of America’s 2011 Advocacy Day. Join me to urge Members of Congress to support increased funding for lupus research and education programs. Visit http://capwiz.com/lfa to make your voice heard. Don’t be afraid, just write what is in your heart. Write what you would want to say to your congressperson if you met them in person. It does not need to be long, or short, or anything else but true.

I have suffered since a child with “unexplained” plain. I have suffered alsorts of treatment I am now 64 years old and they have just diagnosed Lupus (thank God for a diagnosis). I also have Fibromyalgia and various other underlying symptoms.

I feel somedays that I can’t do anything but I push, and push myself and think if only I could have a good nights sleep. But most of the time I enjoy life and take one day at a time.

I pray that research will catch up and lupus will be more widely recognised. and yes , that we will see a change especially in attitude to these ‘illnesses’

  • I have had Lupus for over 15 years-it is a terribly debilitating disease that we need a cure for. We especially need a voice in government to help support us. If we had AIDS there would be assistance for us-our family is going broke because of the cost of the medications and treatments. I do hope in my lifetime I will see a change
