August is National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month.

You never outgrow the need for vaccines. The specific immunizations you need as an adult are determined by factors such as your age, lifestyle, high-risk conditions, type and locations of travel, and previous immunizations. Throughout your adult life, you need immunizations to get and maintain protection against: flu, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, shingles, pneumococcal, HPV, etc.

Of course you need to communicate with your doctor about what your specific body needs. Here is a great link to educate yourself about vaccines:

“You never outgrow the need for vaccines.” and “…you need immunizations to get and maintain protection against…”

^^^These statements seems less about informing and allowing people to make their own decisions and more about telling them what they NEED to do. And the CDC isn’t exactly neutral on this topic.

  • Although many people feel differently about immunizations, and it can be a “hot” topic. We at butyoudontlooksick.com feel it is important to give you all the information to make your own decisions.

  • It seems strange to find advocacy for vaccines on this site when so many of our But You Don’t Look Sick illnesses were precipitated or made worse by them.
