April is Autism Awareness Month
Autism is a developmental disability that affects a person’s ability to communicate and interact with others. There are varying degrees to which each individual is affected and certain behaviors that define the disability. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued their ADDM autism prevalence report which concluded that the prevalence of autism had risen to 1 in every 110 births in the United States and almost 1 in 70 boys. Currently there is no known cause or cure for Autism. For more information go to http://www.autism-society.org
